Dame Dash Presents: Paid In Full & Dream Team
KB Tindal
4.0

Rock-A-Fella is an Army. The Dynasty is with out a doubt probably the best team in Hip-Hop since Death Row. Their beats are crispy as hell. Their lyrics are graphic, sick, enlightening, arrogant and a tad ignorant, but it’s only music. On this project Dame makes it clear that if he could spit he would really have a lot of shit to say. “Champions” featuring Dame Dash, Kanye West (yeah the producer) Beanie Siegel, Cam’Ron, Young Chris is the intro to the disc and showcases the hunger in the voices of the Roc men doing what they do best…talking that top dog shit. Only the Roc could sample a Queen rock tune and get it off. Young Guru laces the hottest track on the disc. “One For Peedi Crackk.” The choppy sound of an organ type instrument along with the constant bass drop makes this a definite mix tape instrumental for cats to spit over. “Don’t You Know” shows Jigga man still flows like he’s 22. Dude simply can’t be touched. He’s had some wack jams, like every artist, but this is not one of them. His spot is surely solidified.

The Roc has also been into the R&B side of music since day one. So, it’s no surprise that tracks like “Ghost” by Rick Vocals, “You Know What I Want” by Rell and Cam’Ron, and “Alright” featuring Allen Anthony all cross the music border respectively. The Dynasty is growing stronger by the minute.

Now back to the grimey joints. “Home of Philly” is a bringing your young’n up song where Beans sends some love and teachings to his young gunner, Chris. Sort of done in the tradition of Jay-Z and Bleeks “Coming Of Age” just a little more personal but still street.

“City” does not speak well for the newest inductees of the Roc. M.O.P. can deliver more heat than this one in their sleep. What makes the track so soft is that its’ about New York City. Mop know when you reppin’ the 5 Boroughs you gotta come harder than this. All of this takes place on the second disc of the release.

Disc one is full of old school joints like “Paid In Full” by Eric B and Rakim. “The Show” By Slick Rick and Doug E Fresh. “The Bridge is Over” by Boogie Down Productions and many other classic jams. Run and cop this. It’s the hottest soundtrack of the year. It’s the Roc. Holla
