In addition, in an Instagram post on Tuesday (July 23) that previews his new collaboration with Russ, “Work Of Art,” Smith says, “I just finished my album.”
Dance In Your Darkest Moments seems like it may in fact be the album title, since the phrase already has its own Instagram page and website. It is billed as “a human wellness initiative designed to inspire self-exploration, encourage acceptance, & cultivate a celebration for life” that is “inspired” by Smith.
In other Smith news, he recently reacted to Childish Gambino name-dropping him during his outspoken BET Awards speech.

The Oscar-winner shared a video on Instagram of himself watching Gambino’s off-the-script monologue backstage at the ceremony, in which he could be seen laughing in agreement with the rapper’s critique of awards shows.
While presenting the award for Album of the Year, Donald Glover took aim at the Grammys and BET Awards by comparing his record at both events to that of Will Smith and Sam Smith.
“I have more Grammys than Will Smith, which makes no sense. But I have the same amount of BET Awards as Sam Smith,” he said, referencing the white British singer. “Does that make sense to you guys? Me and Sam Smith are neck and neck at the Black Entertainment Television [Awards].”
Gambino then joked: “If I have to, like, do, I dunno, Baby Boy or something, just let me know. I’ll have Jonathan Majors put me in a headlock and shave my head. I’ll do it!”

Smith — who performed his new gospel single “You Can Make It” at the awards show — was clearly amused by the rapper’s comments and let out several hearty laughs while watching the segment from a green room.
