Trippie Redd and Coi Leray are an item once more after a nasty split a few years back, and now Trippie is spilling the beans on how the reconciliation happened.

TMZ caught up with the Ohio native in New York City during a party for his new clothing line on Tuesday (September 10) and asked how he got that old thing back.

“You know [I reached out and said I missed her]. [We were on the low for] a little while – we just been talking. That’s my boo.”

When asked about if they have any musical collaborations on the way, Trippie confirmed: “It’s coming.”

Trippie Redd and Coi Leray dated for a short period in 2019 before going through a very public breakup, which inspired the former to pour out his heartbreak on the song “Leray.”

“It was love at first sight and misery after two months/ Always feeling fucked up either by love or no love,” the Ohio native said on the somber, acoustic ballad.

He added: “You were only fuckin’ with my feelings because you didn’t know your own/ I do miss who I thought you were/ And sometimes I’m miserable without you/ So it’s just like you’re still here, shit.”

Coi shared her side of the story in a 2020 interview with No Jumper, describing her and Trippie as soulmates but admitting the timing of their relationship just wasn’t right.

“I met Trippie when he was like 19 and I was 21. We were just both young,” she said. “I’m an up-and-coming female artist, I had a lot going on, I had a big team. And he had a lot going on at the time, too.

“I just feel like it was not the right time for us, but I always feel like we were made for each other.”

She also alluded to a clash of egos, saying: “I’ma always try to uplift you and give you as much guidance as I can based off my experiences and what I know. You can disagree, but at least hear me out.

“Sometimes that might be like, ‘Yo, nobody wanna hear that shit.’ But you need to hear it, you feel me? It just got to a point where… it’s very hard to have two alphas in love.”

Rumors have swirled in recent weeks that Trippie Redd and Coi Leray have been quitely rekindling their romance. At the beginning of August, Coi shared a screenshot of her and the Life’s a Trip rapper on FaceTime and later wrote on X: “Sleeping on FaceTime, waking up on FaceTime [smiling face with hearts emoji].”

Trippie reciprocated the love with by posting a photo of him holding up a Goyard shopping bag with the caption: “Yeah, she loves me.”
