TakeOff‘s murder involved a woman who was caught in the crossfire, and she has now shared what she remembers from that fateful night.
On Wednesday (January 18), Sydney Leday, a 24-year-old Houston, Texas native, sat down for an exclusive conversation with KHOU 11 and recounted the moments that led to her getting shot in the head after in front of a Houston bowling alley on November 1, 2022.

According to Leday, she remembered hearing shots ring out, and she attempted to run away when she felt a stinging sensation in the back of her head. She fell to the ground, but the person she was with picked her up and went to their car.
Leday said the whole ordeal felt like a scary movie and that she had reached out to her mother to tell her what happened and for her to come straight to the hospital.

“I told her to come to the hospital, but I ended up having a seizure, so I was on the phone with her the whole time,” Leday said. “I remember the whole thing. I felt the sting in the back of my head. I felt myself falling and the person I was with picked me up and got in the car but it was just it was like a scary movie.”
She continued: “Ironically, it was Halloween night. I had on a nun outfit I had blood all over me and it was still my birthday weekend. So I mean like any other 24-year-old, I was just out partying and celebrating ’cause I really never dressed up for Halloween and that was something I was excited about.”
Leday continued to say that she and her friends got to the bowling alley around midnight and were having a good time at the event. She recalled the night being “normal” with no indication of danger.
“It was pretty normal in my opinion. I didn’t get scared it wasn’t any arguments or anything until the event was actually over,” she said holding back tears. “And um. Yeah, that’s when I knew something was wrong after the fact ’cause I thought these people that were arguing was just playing from, like I said, the energy that was in the room before everybody was around the table playing a game of dice. So I thought it was just like, you know, some like friendly banter.”

Leday said seeing the argument and Quavo getting upset made her aware that something wasn’t right. She tried to run to safety but ended up getting shot in the head.
“Quavo, he was upset so I noticed that something was wrong. Whenever I noticed that, he was really upset and he was finna leave. So the party wasn’t gonna keep going on, and I saw whenever everything broke out, and I tried to run, but I didn’t go that far so. Yeah, it was like, it was really like a movie.”

The 24-year-old revealed she hasn’t gone to therapy to deal with the trauma from that night and admitted that she went through severe panic attacks once she was discharged from the hospital.
The argument that led to the shooting that night was allegedly over loaded dice, according to a statement from comedian Shawty Shawty. The Wild ‘N’ Out star appeared as a guest on the Ugly Money Podcast, where he shed more light on the November 1 shooting that tragically claimed the Migos rapper’s life.
Shawty claimed he spoke to one of TakeOff and Quavo’s cousins and was told the bickering began after Quavo believed the men he was gambling with had rigged the dice.
“I have to say ‘alleged’ because I was told this over the phone from a reliable source … They say Quavo dominates in a whole lot of different things — basketball, all of this. So they say that they had been shooting basketball earlier and then they got to the bowling alley, and they said it was a dice game,” he said.

“They say that Quavo noticed that the dice were not right, and that’s where the argument started. Everybody know Quavo got a mouth on him, everybody know Quavo would talk junk. I don’t think that was the atmosphere to talk shit in. I think they were on somebody’s tab, and you gotta respect [that].”
