Ray J has thrown his hat back in the Verzuz ring, pleading with Sammie, Pleasure P, and Bobby Valentino to “run it back.”
Nearly one year has passed since the “One Wish” recording artist teamed up with Bobby V for their showdown against Sammie and Pleasure P, a battle royale of chart-toppers that would ultimately turn into one of the platform’s most entertaining matchups.

However, despite the embarrassment that ensued, Ray J is calling on the R&B trio (who now have an R&B group with him named RSVP) for a rematch.
On Friday (March 31), the 42-year-old took to Instagram to broadcast his intent to clear his name. “Listen, everybody talking ’bout their get back on VERZUZ. I want my get back,” he began. “You know what I’m saying? Can I get my get back, Sammie? Can I get my get back, P?”
He continued: “Even Bobby Valentino, you switched sides fam. When I looked back you was on they side. I know ya’ll all from the A but God damn, we supposed to be a team. Ya’ll back there singing my songs and shit, throwing me off.”
Meanwhile, Ray J, who previously blamed his poor performance on being drunk on Casamigos and not drinking the tea prepared for him, confessed: “I over-rehearsed, you know? I learned from what I did wrong and I want my get back, too. Can ya’ll run me my get back? I’m ready to get back right now. Were we at?”

As for how Ray plans to dominate the stage he revealed: “I done drank my tea. Pops done got me right. You feel what I’m saying? Brandy got me strong mentally.”
He concluded: “What ya’ll n-ggas want to do? Run it back.”
“FORGET THE GROUP RIGHT NOW!! Run it back!! @sammiealways @bobbyvshow @pleasurep — @officialrsvp – @verzuztv — What yall think??,” Ray J captioned his post, insinuating he’s ready to put the group on hold until he can save face.
The request comes shortly after Ray pleaded with fans to leave his viral VERZUZ blunder in 2022.

In January, Ray took to Instagram to share a clip of his performance where he’s particularly in a groove and paired it with other people recreating the moment.
In his caption, Ray J jokingly asked the internet to leave it alone for the new year. “Can we put this behind us. Lol leave it in 2022??? #happynewyear 2023,” he wrote.
