Memphis Bleek has become the latest Hip Hop figure to pile misery on DJ Envy amid the ongoing Carlos Pina real estate scandal, joining the likes of Rick Ross, Funk Flex, Akademiks, and Joe Budden.
In a social media post dated Friday (October 20), the Coming of Age rapper posted a photo of himself and his wife Ashley Coombs Cox standing next to real estate agent Rondra Bolden. Coombs Cox is holding a giant key with “Sold!” on it.

Bleek’s caption made it clear that he and his wife had just bought a house. He tagged the IG accounts of Rondra and her husband Calvin, known as the Bolden Team; as well as Coombs Cox.
“Another one sold!! Thanks to @thebolden_team Always Holding us down!! @biznesswomanac [Coombs Cox] What we buying next??” he wrote.

The caption continued: “[And] we Ain’t Scamming,” followed by some crying-laughing emojis and a mention of Bleek and his wife’s company, MAP Secure Investment Group LLC.

The “scamming” language in Memphis Bleek’s post is a mocking nod to the DJ Envy controversy. Envy’s former business partner Cesar Pina has been arrested on federal charges for allegedly being involved in a real estate Ponzi scheme, and is facing multiple lawsuits as well.

Envy has denied knowledge of Pina’s alleged scams, despite being listed in marketing materials as a co-founder of Pina’s company, doing seminars with Pina, and having Pina on his radio show on Power 105.1, The Breakfast Club.
Pina has agreed with Envy’s assessment, saying that listing Envy as a co-founder was done without the DJ’s knowledge.
In addition to celebrating his real estate successes, Memphis Bleek has also recently been looking back at his career. During a September Drink Champs interview, he remembered the highs, the lows, and the could-have-beens.
Among the last group, he revealed he was supposed to play the lead role in the 2002 movie Drumline. Bleek recalled that he was up for the part that eventually went to Nick Cannon, but he turned down the opportunity — much to the disappointment of JAY-Z.

“I turned down Drumline. [Director Chris Robinson] wanted me to do it and everything, and I was scared,” Bleek remembered.
“He wanted to put me in acting school and all that, and I was afraid. Remember, my career had just started working and I’m saying to myself, ‘I’ll do this movie as a drummer and then it don’t work, how am I gonna go back to the hood and tell n-ggas we out here getting this money, we real n-ggas?’”
