Lil Wayne is a noted Los Angeles Lakers fan, but it appears the love doesn’t go both ways.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday night (February 29), the Young Money rapper claimed he was “treated like shit” while attending the Lakers’ home game against the Washington Wizards.

Weezy didn’t elaborate on his allegations, but he did say that he’d been getting the distinct vibe that team officials didn’t like him.
He also offered a theory behind the mistreatment, linking it to past comments he made about Lakers star Anthony Davis.

“Wow! Got treated like shit at the Laker game just now but I figured they’d do me [like] that sooner or later either bc of what i said abt AD or simply bc they don’t fwm which I been got that vibe from em as well so all good I get it,” he wrote.
“Fuck em. It isn’t what it isn’t. I’m used to it.”
During an appearance on UNDISPUTED in November, Lil Wayne argued that the Los Angeles Lakers need to “get rid” of Anthony Davis in order to win another NBA championship.
“Anthony Davis, I’ma keep it real, if you ask me if the Lakers want to be a championship team in the future as well you gotta get rid of AD,” he said.

When asked for an explanation from host Skip Bayless, Wayne replied: “Because he AD. Plain and simple.”
He continued: “Because that’s his make-up and that’s who he is. He’s shown us that and I guess the only time he hasn’t shown us that is New Orleans and the bubble championship. Get rid of him and get some good players. We don’t even need a superstar.”
The “A Milli” hitmaker later walked back his criticism of Davis while returning to the show, admitting: “You can’t get nobody for him that’s gon’ replace what he can do. There’s nobody out there like that. If you could get [Nikola] Jokić, but you can’t do that.”
Lil Wayne previously ruffled feathers in Laker Nation when he replaced Shaquille O’Neal with LeBron James on his Mount Rushmore of players who’ve worn the famous purple and gold.

Shaq comically responded by posting a video of him smiling at the rapper’s initial selections before pretending to cry after being snubbed.
