Left Eye was never one to hold her tongue, and her TLC groupmates believe she would have been giving Kanye West a run for his money on social media if she was still here today.
T-Boz and Chilli became the first-ever recipients of the People’s Award from Atlanta radio station V-103 over the weekend at their Winterfest concert. While accepting the honor from Big Tigger, the ladies reflected on what life would be like if the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes were still with us.

“Child, she would have been the Kanye of Twitter,” T-Boz began, before Chilli chimed in: “No seriously! She would have more followers on Twitter and Instagram than anybody.”
T-Boz continued: “No telling what heights we would have reached honestly if she was still here. I mean, ’cause it’s still a blessing that we’re still touring and selling out arenas overseas and even in America and stadiums overseas…and America! And her memory lives on through us. We always keep her alive, everything we do.”

Elsewhere in the clip, TLC were asked about new music, and while fans won’t necessarily be getting an album any time soon – they still have a lot to look forward to.
“We won’t do an album, but we’ll do singles,” the ladies said. “And we have TV stuff. We have a Broadway play on the way and there will be new music incorporated in that. Wait for that musical, baby!”

This past June, Lifetime and A+E Networks premiered a two-hourTLC Forever documentary, which highlighted what Chilli and T-Boz are up to currently, which included prepping for their summer tour. The film is interspersed with footage from the group’s heyday with the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes as they detail their meteoric rise to fame and the challenges they overcame to sell over 85 million records worldwide.
Questlove and Missy Elliott make appearances as well.
This summer’s trek followed 2021’s CrazySexyCool anniversary tour – which suffered a few setbacks including when two Texas dates had to be postponed after T-Boz suffered an allergic reaction.
Diagnosed with sickle cell anemia as a child, T-Boz has battled the autoimmune disease throughout her career. In a 2020 interview with HipHopDX, she spoke about how CBD has helped her not spend days in the hospital undergoing treatment while explaining the illness isn’t the reason behind TLC canceling another tour.

“Before I started taking CBD — you can go back through our history and they would tell you, ‘T-Boz is sick, T-Boz has ruined another tour,'” she said. “It’s not a cure but since being on it, I don’t get sick as often. I’m way stronger and when I do get sick, it’s not as bad or for as long.”
“On this last tour, I broke my rib and I was able to still perform with a broken rib. A long time ago that would have sent me into a sickle cell crisis. Because I was on CBD, I was able to go to the hospital for one day, get fluids for the pain and some lidocaine patches and take some CBD cream, bomb and tincture, and I made it through. I didn’t ruin the tour. This is the third tour I’ve been on that I haven’t gotten sick or had to cancel.”
