Kanye West’s character is often spoken about in the context of his older and newer self, and T.I. has shared one of the main differences between the two.
During a Breakfast Club appearance on Monday (August 14), Tip was asked about working with a young Ye, to which he responded: “Kanye was cool to hear man, I ain’t even gonna cap. Kanye was — how can I say — he was more conversational. He read the room a lot better.

“It feel like Ye, y’know, he got to a point where he just stopped reading the room and just gave everything everywhere, y’know what I mean?”
About hearing the Yeezy boss play his earlier songs prior to their release, T.I. said: “He was just so excited playing it, and I’m listening, and when I heard ‘Jesus Walks,’ I said, ‘man he gonna either do really well or extremely bad.’”

In 2018, when Kanye was fully embracing Republican President Donald Trump, he released a back-and-forth conversation with T.I. in the form of a rap single titled “Ye vs. the People,” in which the Southern veteran speaks for the people.
“I know Obama was heaven-sent/ But ever since Trump won, It proved that I could be president,” Ye begins, to which Tip responds: “Yeah, you can, at what cost though?/ Don’t that go against the teachings that Ye talk for?”
“Yo, Tip, I hear your side and everybody talk though/ But ain’t goin’ against the grain everything I fought for?” Kanye replies, followed by T.I. saying: “Prolly so, Ye, but where you tryna go with this?/ It’s some shit you just don’t align with and don’t go against.”
Since then, however, the two have clearly drifted apart to the point where they can’t meet each other halfway even when it comes to their differences.

As of now, Kanye has been laying low, for the most part, following a series of PR disasters last year that resulted in many of his sponsors, affiliates and supporters distancing themselves from him.
