Joe Budden has addressed the online backlash after he removed a segment of his podcast that dealt with the Diddy–Cassie lawsuit.
Last week, Cassie filed a lawsuit against the Bad Boy Records founder, accusing him of rape and domestic abuse during their decade-long relationship. Diddy has denied all accusations and since settled the suit with the singer.

Shortly before the release of the latest episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, which aired exclusively on Patreon over the weekend, Budden went on Instagram Live and said he had to do some last-minute “editing” while alluding to the legal drama between the former couple.
“I had to do a little bit of editing ’cause y’all almost got me,” he said. “Y’all almost got me to be the only voice out there saying some shit. Nah, them blogs would’ve had a field day with that podcast this morning. Nope.”

He added: “Sometimes you got to protect your peace and your co-hosts’ peace. I ain’t playing with y’all.”
Budden did address the lawsuit on the podcast, but skirted around saying anything direct about Diddy or Cassie, instead commenting: “I don’t feel like I need to come in here and have word vomit about my discernment when it comes to evil shit in the industry.”
Joe Budden has been criticized by many for refusing to comment on Cassie’s allegations against Diddy given his history of offering his opinion on other controversial topics.
One social media user said on X, formerly Twitter: “Joe Budden is hilarious. He did a whole Dick Tracy breakdown of why he thought Meg lied that she got shot. Spoke on Jonathan Majors/DJ Envy/Dwight Howard and literally everything else. But now it’s Diddy, it’s ‘I’m not the spokesperson’ – Pathetic.”

Another wrote: “Budden is a clown. If any other artist or music mogul that wasn’t as big as Diddy, had been accused of what Diddy was accused of then Joe would have rip them to shreds.”
Budden responded to the backlash via a comment on The Neighborhood Talk‘s above Instagram post, which featured the caption: “Joe said next topic basically [crying face emoji].”
“‘Joe Budden took out his entire Diddy segment because all yall blogs will try to attach his voice to this all weekend long’ you mean…,” he wrote.
The former Slaughterhouse MC has a longstanding relationship with Diddy, dating back professionally to 2017 when the “Pump it Up” rapper left Complex and announced a partnership with REVOLT, which is owned by the Bad Boy boss.

Budden himself has also been accused of violence towards women, including allegations in 2014 that he assaulted his then-girlfriend Tahiry Jose. The charges against him were later dismissed.
