Respectively noted as one of the top freshmen in Hip Hop for 2009, west coast rapper Blu [click to read] has released a new instrumental LP and is back in the studio with a full length album in the works.

Open (The Instrumental LP) is a 15-track beat LP that was made public as a free download [click here] on Blu’s MySpace page. While the entire LP is instrumental, Blu’s upcoming full feature project, which does not yet have a release date, will highlight the emcee and his thought provoking lyrics which he is most recognized for.

Named 2007 Rookie of the Year by HipHopDX [click here], Blu has worked with producer Exile for his debut album Below the Heavens, as well as C.R.A.C. on The Piece Talks, his sophomore album, and paired up with Mainframe, under the moniker Johnson&Johnson for their self-titled debut album. Blu has also made numerous guest appearances on songs with Tanya Morgan, the late J. Dilla and Evidence.
