As part of a whirlwind press junket for his upcoming album, Blueprint 3, Jay-Z has been spotted on nearly every media outlet including HBO‘s “Real Time With Bill Maher’ [click to watch]. After hanging out with her a few weeks ago in his native Marcy Projects, Jay-Z is adding Oprah Winfrey to the list.
In an excerpt from his upcoming interview in O magazine [click here], Jay-Z talked to the media mogul about selling drugs and being shot at when he was 13-years-old. He called surviving the near-death experience “divine intervention,” adding, “Well, no one really practices shooting a TEC-9 machine gun, right? And when you’re a kid with little bony arms—no wonder nobody could aim.”
While the actual Blueprint 3 album has already fallen victim to the infamous Internet leak, Jay-Z recently told MTV [click here] that he is neither worried or surprised about the public having his album over a week before its proper release.
After calling himself “the most bootlegged artist in history,”Jay added, “It’s a preview. I’m excited for people to hear the album. I’m very proud of the work I’ve done, so enjoy it.”

Finally, in other Jay-Z related news, USA Today reports [click here] the multi-platinum rapper and head of the Rocawear fashion line recently worked with the United States Tennis Association to design a shirt honoring late tennis great and social activist Arthur Ashe. Profits from the shirts sold will benefit the USTA National Junior Tennis and Learning Center as well as the Arthur Ashe Endowment for the Defeat of AIDS.
