Kanye West was expected to headline the first day of Rolling Loud Miami on Friday (July 22) but unexpectedly canceled his performance on Monday (July 18). In a weird twist of fate, he ended up onstage at the annual Florida music festival anyway in support of Lil Durk.

Ye was on deck to perform “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1,” which originally featured Kid Cudi on the chorus. Cudi, who replaced Kanye in in headlining slot, prematurely ended his set just as Kanye was performing on the adjacent stage.

Kid Cudi abandoned his set after someone hit him in the face with a water bottle. He attempted to warn them with,” If I get hit with one more fucking thing, if I see one more fucking thing on this fucking stage I’m leaving,” But Cudi’s stern warning did nothing to thwart the ambush.

As for Kanye West, Rolling Loud organizers announced his cancelation with a statement shared to social media and appeared just as shocked as Kanye’s fans.

“We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022,” the statement read. “We spent months working with him and his team on the performance. Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer be performing.
