Kanye West was expected to headline Rolling Loud Miami on Friday (July 22), but the G.O.O.D. Music founder apparently has other plans. According to a statement obtained by HipHopDX, Ye appeared to cancel the appearance out of the blue and without explanation.
“We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022,” the statement reads. “We spent months working with him and his team on the performance. Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer be performing.
“This is the first time a headliner has ever pulled off our show and though we don’t take it lightly, we wish him the best. We look forward to welcoming Kid Cudi as a headliner in Miami and we can’t wait to see what he has in store.”
Fans of Kanye West were understandably devastated by the last minute cancelation and flooded Rolling Loud’s Twitter mentions to express their disappointment. As one fan wrote, “Bro I’ve already invested over $2000 into my trip I worked my ass off as an 18 year old just to see my favorite artist of all time just for him to dropout days before. i can’t describe how I’m feeling right now all my merch says Kanye on it too.”

Rolling Loud Miami takes place from Friday (July 22) to Sunday (July 24) with headliners Kid Cudi, Future and Kendrick Lamar scheduled to take the Hard Rock Stadium stage alongside a laundry list of additional talent. From Playboi Carti, Lil Durk and Lil Uzi Vert to Lil Baby, Kodak Black and Baby Keem, there’s no shortage of diverse acts to appease a variety of Hip Hop/rap fans.
Kid Cudi replacing Kanye West is somewhat ironic considering the former Kids See Ghost collaborators aren’t on good terms.
In April, Cudi announced via Twitter he won’t be working with Kanye West in the future. His tweet arrived after the tracklist for Pusha T’sIt’s Almost Dry was posted online, revealing the Ye and Cudi-assisted single “Rock N Roll.”
