2 Chainz is looking to get fans riled up for his upcoming collaborative album with Lil Wayne he announced in January. On Monday (July 11), the Atlanta native took to his Twitter with an update for fans looking for the sequel to his and Weezy’s 2016 collaborative effort ColleGrove.

Tity Boi has been busy on a performance run, hitting up shows in Las Vegas and Mexico but he’s not letting that stop his work in the studio as he revealed to fans he’s been locked in with Lil Wayne on the upcoming album.

“Had a good weekend wit 2 shows in Vegas and one in Mexico in 2 days , now I’m about to crash I’m just walking out the studio , been in with @LilTunechi all night , let’s just say I’m Excited about our project,” 2 Chainz tweeted alongside two pictures of him and his wife traveling.

Due to label issues on Wayne’s side, 2 Chainz was credited as the primary artist on ColleGrove. Tity Boi did announce during a Spotify Greenroom conversation with Akademiks in January that things would be different on the second go around.

2 Chainz Reveals Lil Wayne 'ColleGrove 2' Album Will Be Different From 1st Effort

“This one is definitely coming out this year,” he said. “We’re actually in the process of mixing it and [Lil Wayne’s] on every single song. We were in the studio together. I think the last time we were in the studio together maybe twice. This time, we’ve been in the studio together multiple times working on this project. Whether going back in after we’ve done something or whatever.”

He added, “I feel super excited about this fucking project because it don’t sound like nothing I’ve ever heard before. And doing something like that with Wayne, it’s welcoming, it’s warming and it’s going to be accepted.”

ColleGrove debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 with 53,000 total album-equivalent units in first-week sales. Relive the project below.
