After combining Jermaine Dupri, Young Jeezy and Mickey Avalon for its latest televised advertisement, Boost Mobile is continuing the tradition of unlikely combinations. Common, Flyleaf, Akon, Puddle of Mudd and Three-6 Mafia will take part in a concert for 3,000 volunteers involved with Boost Mobile RockCorps on June 20. The concert will be held at the Gibson Amphitheatre.
Tickets aren’t being sold to the event, because the show is part of an ongoing free initiative. Interested parties can join the Boost Mobile RockCorps via their website. Registration for one of the four-hour volunteer events qualifies members for tickets to events such as the Gibson Amphitheatre performance later this month.
It’s been about four years since Sean Combs made his first foray into politics with the infamous Vote or Die campaign. A lot has changed since the 2004 Presidential Election, but Diddy still wants to be involved in some capacity. Sen. Hillary Clinton‘s decision to withdraw from the race for the Democratic presidential nomination made it official that Sen. Barack Obama will be significantly ahead in both the popular vote and the delegate count by the time the primaries end. Diddy celebrated the victory via with a video blog at Huffingtonpost.com.
“There’s so much going on in the world, and I don’t know if we’re taking the time to stop and really understand how incredible this is,”Diddy said of the forgone conclusion that Sen. Obama will take the Democratic presidential nomination. “What we witnessed is life-changing…it’s history.”
