Apparently the “spiritual cleansing” which is causing Foxy Brown to be dissatisfied with her new album [click to read…] also led a management change. Chaz Williams spoke exclusively to Lenny S, Maya “The Brasilianaire” Medena and Big Lite about what appears to be an amicable split between Foxy and his Blackhand Management team.
“I no longer represent Foxy Brown,” says Williams. “I stayed with her throughout the prison situation and her whole incarceration, but I guess it was time for both of us to split and move on.”

Over a decade after The Cenobites spawned on New York radio, the group consisting of Kool Keith, Godfather Don, Bobbito and close affiliates returns with their second ever EP titled Demented Thoughts. Taking pre-orders now, One Leg Up Records, who recently released the Godfather Don and Herb McGruff lost project, is selling this six-track vinyl project for $80 a pop, limited to 200 copies.

The material is listed to be exclusively from 1993-1996, where many of these rare cuts were premiered on Bobbito and Stretch Armstrong‘s acclaimed New York radio show. Bobbito would later compile a debut EP collection of Cenobites material, and release it on his own Fondle ‘Em imprint, the label responsible for introducing non-New Yorkers to Juggaknots, The Arsonists and RJD2 through his MHz collective. When the Cenobites were
released as the label’s first ever project, the manufacturer spelled
the project as “Cenubites,” prompting an alternate spelling, adding to
the group’s mystique.
At $80 to purchase, the release is the second in a series of five rare, vinyl-only releases from Hip Hop relics. One Leg Up vows
that none of the recordings will ever be re-pressed, never surpassing
200, and will be sold first come, first serve. After the series, buyers
of all five projects will receive a free sixth project in the series,
not available to the general public.
Among the six songs, “Hot Crib Promo” featuring in an early appearance from Cage is included. “That’s How I’m Goin’ Out” is also there; all songs are produced by Godfather Don. Interested buyers can order through OneLegUpRecords@gmail.com.
