The Associated Press reports Flipmode hypeman and emcee Spliff Star was taken into custody early Sunday morning after performing with Busta Rhymes in Stockholm, Sweden. Police Spokeswoman Lotta Larson tells the AP that Spliff Star, whose real name is William Lewis, had an unidentified substance in his hotel room. Larson also said Spliff Starr was released after leaving a urine sample, which local authorities will test for drugs.

O&P Worldwide, who organized the concert performance, confirmed that a police drug squad also raided Busta Rhymes‘ hotel suite, but found no drugs. Busta is currently on three years’ probation for a series of 2007 violations. His current single, “We Made It,” entered the Billboard Hot 100 last week at number 65.

Spliff Star has yet to publicly comment on his arrest. Sweden’s drug laws are generally stricter than other European countries, with possession charges usually carrying heavy fines or six month prison terms. HipHopDX will provide more information as it is made available.
