In the interview, member Chad Hugo, who has stepped away from a lot of producing duties on projects as well as the Star Trak imprint. Asked if he had recently considered quitting, as he’s perceived to have “one foot out the door,” Hugo told the publication, “I think in many cases it was. It’s hard to grasp the
reigns as far as the music industry. It’s designed for single people. My
situation is different. Otherwise it would be fun to just take off out of the
stratosphere, out of control, make music for the masses. So one foot out the
door? No, one foot on the floor.”
Hugo, Pharrell Williams and longtime friend and third member of N.E.R.D. Shay Haley are all featured on the issue cover for the first time in their seven year career of releasing albums. The issue hits news stands early next month.
