During one of the many thinly veiled shots taken at Suge Knight and Priority Records on his 2000 album Tha Last Meal, Snoop Dogg and Kurupt joke that “this is the last time y’all eat off the big homeboy.” It may have taken almost an additional decade, but the proclamation was indeed true. Snoop Dogg‘s attorney, Joseph Scleimer, announced that his client and his former label agreed to a settlement to compensate Snoop for a cash advance for Tha Last Meal and a separate fee for releasing a greatest hits collection without his consent.

According to public records, the settlement will end a 2006 suit filed by Snoop Dogg seeking damages in the amount of $2 million. Priority was accused of breaching contract for allegedly refusing to pay the $950,000 advance for Tha Last Meal. The other album named in the suit is Dead Man Walkin’, a collection of unreleased Death Row Records material commissioned by Suge Knight in 2000. To date, Tha Last Meal has certified domestic sales of over 1 million copies sold, while Dead Man Walkin’ has yet to reach the 500,000 mark.

Priority Attorney David Steinberg says both sides were happy with the terms of the settlement, although such terms were not disclosed. Judge Helen Bendix, who approved the settlement, had pushed for both sides to settle the suit since it was originally filed in 2006.
