While record sales for Hip Hop artists continue to decrease, 50 Cent continues to prove his earning power extends beyond the recording booth. This fall the G-Unit founder will release his second video game entitled 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. Vivendi Games producer Aaron Blean tells MTV News that although this is 50‘s second game for the company, it should not be viewed as a sequel to the 2005 game 50 Cent: Bulletproof.

“I would say it’s inspired by Three Kings meets Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,” says Blean. “It’s definitely a crime story.Blean also credits 50 with challenging Vivendi to improve aspects of the game. Bulletproof was rated by 17 different media outlets and scored an average of 4.3 out of 10. Despite the negative press the game has sold over 2 million copies since its release.

Variety reports that rapper, actor and film producer Ice Cube has signed a preemptive spec deal with Dimension Films for his first original script since Friday After Next. Janky Promoters will center on Cube and an as-yet-unnamed actor who watch their plan to book a show for an A-list artist go horribly wrong. The script is drawing comparisons to Uptown Saturday Night, and is expected to begin shooting this summer.

Cube will costar and produce the movie, which Dimension will help provide the $10 million budget for. The partnership pays Ice Cube less money to star in the film, but allows him to see a lucrative back end profit once the film recoups its budget.

“He’s producing the movie, sharing in the funding, so it’s more complicated than previous deals we’ve made with Cube,” explains Dimension‘s Bob Weinstein. “He’s a brand, like Tyler Perry, and that’s the direction he’s headed in.”
