The Hip Hop community is mourning the loss of yet another beloved rapper when Paper Route Empire boss Young Dolph was shot and killed in his hometown Memphis, Tennessee on Wednesday (November 17).

The rapper — born Adolph Robert Thornton Jr. — was entering Makeda’s Cookies to buy cookies with his girlfriend and daughter when someone pulled up to the store in a vehicle and killed the rapper in a hail of gunfire. The “100 Shots” rapper was 36 years old and is survived by his girlfriend and two children.

As the news of Dolph’s passing spreads, many of his peers have come to social media with their reactions towards the untimely passing. LL Cool J, Westside Gunn, Russ, Quavo and more took to their Twitter accounts with messages of condolences to Dolph’s family.

“I am sooo sick rn I am in disbelief! Praying for his family and friends ! Rest In Peace to my friend a true legend dolph,” Megan Thee Stallion tweeted.

Gucci Mane chimed in, “R. I.P. to my friend Dolph this broke my heart.”

Chance The Rapper said, “God bless Dolph Real independent Memphis rapper born in chicago. loved by millions of ppl. Always showed love everytime I seen him this is tragic God bless his family man.”

Mia Jaye, the mother of Young Dolph’s children dropped a heartbreaking post that read, “Question is … How am I going to tell my babies that daddy is never coming home? God give me strength … Adolph I love you with all my heart and soul.

“Thank you to everyone for all of your prayers, love, support, calls, messages … I may not see them all but when my eyes are not full of tears, I catch a few … Nonetheless, all the genuine positive vibes, energy and prayers are welcome … because Lord knows I need them …”

As more reactions comes in, fans are remembering the rapper for his accomplishments. His first studio album King of Memphis dropped in 2016 debuting at No. 49 on the Billboard 200 chart and released six albums after that.
