The Oscar winning group Three-6 Mafia appears to finally have a date for their upcoming album, Last 2 Walk. Billboard reports that Columbia will release the album on June 24. The album’s release date has been delayed at least twice since its lead single “Dope Boy Fresh” was released in the spring of 2007. Guest appearances from Lil’ Wayne, 8Ball & MJG, Paul Wall, Akon and Lil’ John are still expected. The song “I’d Rather,” which features DJ Unk has surfaced on the Internet, but representatives from Columbia Records have not commented on the alleged leak.

Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am will make his acting debut in 2009’s X-men prequel Wolverine. According to Variety, the rapper and producer will play the role of “Wraith.” The character is described as “a mutant who has the power to teleport, and is another test subject of the Weapon X program that created Wolverine and other mercenaries.” The role adds will.i.am to the ranks of Hip Hop artists in various comic book adaptations, such as Common, who will portray Green Lantern in the upcoming Justice League, and Ghostface Killah, who will make a cameo appearance in Ironman.

The announcement of his acting debut comes during what has been a high-profile month for will.i.am. USA Today reports that his “Yes We Can” video, which shows his and other artist’s support for Democratic Presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, had nearly 4 million views during the first week of its release.
