New York, NY

The LOX and Dipset Verzuz battle went down at Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater in New York City on Tuesday night (August 3) and there was a clear standout from the event — Jadakiss.

The veteran LOX rapper became a trending Twitter topic before the face-off was even over, with hundreds of people praising him for his effortless swagger and sharp lyrical skills. The LOX came out swinging from the jump, performing their features on N.O.R.E.’s “Banned From TV” and DMX’s “N-ggaz Done Started Something.”

As for The Diplomats, Jim Jones and Cam’ron fired back on songs such as “Byrd Gang Money” and “Get Em Girls,” but Jadakiss and his crew continued to smoke them throughout the evening.

The spirited event went on for over two hours and in the end, fans handed the New York rap crown to The LOX, likely much to Jones’ chagrin. Jones was talking an overwhelming amount of smack ahead of the showdown.

“Somebody ask Styles if they want to bring a pull-up bar on stage, too, so I can smoke all three of them,” he wrote on Instagram last month. “While I’m smoking all three of them, smoke on this LOX pack real quick. Heavy smoke. It’s up. It’s just up.”

But it looks like Styles P had his psychic moment, replying, “That drip and muscles ain’t gonna stop this slaughtering. You just gonna be drippy and in good shape while [you] get slaughtered!!! There will be no immunity for the set!!! Against the holy trinity of this shit!!!!”
