It’s the moment MMA and pro wrestling fans have all been waiting for: the UFC debut of former WWE champion Brock Lesnar. He faces former UFC champion Frank Mir. The WWE/UFC show down is moments away!

The lights are dim in the arena and the crowd is on their feet. Nas’ Hate Me Now accompanies former champion Frank Mir to the ring. The Las Vegan is greeted with a standing ovation.

Brock Lesnar entered next to a mixture of boos and cheers. Lesnar appears to be monstrous, almost bigger than life. The bout is set to begin:

Round 1: The fighters come out of their corners. Lesnar scores a quick take down on Mir and quickly pases Mir’s guard. Lesnar strikes Mir in the back of the head and is deducted a point. The fighters stand back up. Mir is dropped by Lesnar! Mir gets a leg lock. Lesnar taps!!! It’s over!

The night’s second main event is about to get under way. Squaring off for the Interim Heavy Weight Championship is former champion Tim “The Maine-iac” Sylvia and former Pride champion Antonio Nogueira.

Nogueira enters the ring first, but the crowd seems to be heavily anticipating the entrance of Sylvia. Sylvia enters the ring draped in an American flag. The action begins shortly!

Round 1: After a brief period of feeling each other out, the fighters exchange punches. Sylvia scores a quick take down but allows Nogueira to get back to his feet. Sylvia–known for his boxing–gets a connects with a couple quick jabs. Sylvia floors Nogueira with a jab and attempts the ground and pound. Aware of Nogueira’s superior ground skills Sylvia allows him to stand. Sylvia scores another quick take down and lets Nogueira stand again. Nogueira attepts a quick take down, but is unable to bring The Maine-iac to the canvas. Sylvia lands several more thunderous blows before Nogueira secures a take down.

Round 2: The second round begins much like the end of the first. Sylvia continues to put on a boxing clinic, jabbing Nogueira almost at will, while avoiding the take down. Sylvia escapes another take down attempt with good defense and a flurry of punches to Nogueira’s face. Both fighers exchange punches towards the close of the round, Sylvia seems to be playing it safe.

Round 3: Sylvia connects with a hard right to Nogueira’s face that causes the crowd to erupt. Nogueira reverses Sylvia’s take down and gets a guillotine. Sylvia taps!!! The fight is over. Antonio Nogueira is the new heavy weight champion!

Breaking Point’s undercard kicked things off with a bang as Robert Emerson of The Ultimate Fighter fame defeated Tokyo’s Keita Nakamura by split decision.

In a middle weight bout, Marvin “The Beastman” Eastman and Terry Martin—normally two heavy hitters—were serenaded by a chorus of boos from the fans for a slow first and second rounds. Referee Yves Lavigne received most of the initial applause for repeatedly restarting the action. Eastman triumphed by unanimous decision.

Fans who arrived early for the preliminary fights got their money’s worth the preliminary fights got their money’s worth as Tim Boetsch scored a first round TKO victory over David Heath via strikes. In either a twist of irony or a cruel joke, LL Cool J’sMama Said Knock You Out played over the loud speaker after the bout.

The action continued to heat up as Chris Lytle scored an electrifying 33 second TKO over Kyle Bradley in the night’s final preliminary bout. Bradley was nearly sent to dream street before the referee stopped the fight.

The night for pay per view fans kicked off with fireworks as light weights Tyson Griffin and Gleison Tibau lit up the opening bout. Griffin seemed to dominate on the ground, but Tibau was able to take the home town hero down seemingly at will. Tibau’s take downs weren’t enough, as all three judges gave Griffin the fight, 30-27. The crowd seemed to disagree and booed loudly upon the announcement.

Ricardo Almeida stopped Rob Yundt via guillotine choke 1:08 into the first round.

Nate Marquardt tapped out veteran fighter Jeremy Horn in the second round.
