If it seems that Sean Combs is changing his name every few years, it’s probably because he is. According to the New York Post, the mogul, actor and part-time artist has asked to be referred to as “Sean John” for his latest incarnation.
“Right now I want to be Sean John, because that’s where I am,” says Combs. “I have always evolved and taken a different name each time.
The newest nickname is identical with that of Combs‘ clothing line, and marks the fourth such change. Combs goes by his birth name for his film and stage roles, but he has previously requested to be called “Puffy,”“Puff Daddy,”“P. Diddy” and simply “Diddy.”
In other news, Snoop Dogg, is adding to his ever-growing list of collaborators. According to the British magazine The People, Snoop plans to let soccer star David Beckham add vocals to his next single.
The magazine cited an unnamed source which stated, “Snoop thought it’d be a laugh and David is going to give it a real go. They are huge names so the song’s bound to be a hit-even if it’s no good.” According to Snoop Dogg, the pair will work on more than just music. “We are talking about making a slipper together,” says Snoop. “So when I stop rapping and he stops football we can kick back and slip on a house shoe.”
The two stars met at the Live 8 concert and have sparked a rather unlikely friendship, with Beckham appearing on Snoop’s reality show Snoop Dogg’s Fatherhood. “Me and my boy David come from separate worlds,” adds Snoop. “But it’s not just business talk–we also chat about our families.”
