As previously reported, The
Game
was hit with three felony charges; stemming from an incident that
happened in February of 2007 in which the rapper was charged with possession of
a firearm in a school zone, exhibiting a firearm on the grounds of a facility
for minors and making criminal threats.

After pleading not guilty in June, The Game appeared in court today (Jan. 9) where a trial date was set for
February 4th. If convicted the Compton rapper faces up to 5 years in
prison.

On top of the weapons case trial, The Game’s lawyer claims the LAPD
confiscated $44k during the investigation and have refused to release it.

According to TMZ, a hearing is scheduled on January 22nd to
determine if the LAPD is in contempt of court for failing to return the
confiscated money.
