While Drake fans anxiously await Certified Lover Boy to arrive, the 6 God momentarily whet their palates on Thursday night (March 4) when he delivered theScary Hours 2 3-pack featuring Rick Ross and Lil Baby.
From the unmistakable bravado of “What’s Next” and effortless rap ping-pong on “Wants and Needs” to the essential boss bars on “Lemon Pepper Freestyle,” the 13-minute EP ignited even more excitement for Drake’s follow-up to 2018’s Scorpion, with the majority of his fans anointing him with “G.O.A.T.” status once again.
But one particular line appeared to stand out from the rest. On “Wants and Needs,” Drake makes a reference to Kanye West who he’s famously beefed with in the past. “Yeah, I should probably go link with Yeezy,” he raps. “I need me some Jesus/But as soon as I start confessin’ my sins, he wouldn’t believe us.”
As Drake began trending on Twitter, several fans initially thought the line indicated they’d laid their issues to rest but as time went on, more and more people suggested it was a well-timed subliminal about an alleged fling with Ye’s future ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

Drake and Kanye have a contentious past that blew up in 2018 after G.O.O.D. Music president Pusha T revealed the Canadian superstar had a “secret” son on his infamous Drake diss track, “The Story Of Adidon.”
There was also a Twitter deep-dive into Drake’s lyrics from “In My Feelings” and many speculated the Kiki in the song was Kardashian.
The chatter grew so intense, Kanye felt compelled to dispel those rumors, tweeting, “Don’t speak on nobody from my family, nothing that could be even mentioned with my wife. Period. We don’t have to talk again, I’m giving no energy to that.” (It was later revealed the real Kiki was 24-year-old Oakland dancer Ky’anna “Kiki” Barber.)
