Rapper and actor Xzibit (whose birth name is Alvin Joiner) will be featured in the latest installment from the X-Files franchise. In the film, which currently has no working title, Xzibit will play an FBI agent alongside actress Amanda Peet.
Sources speculate that the pair will be cast with X-Files mainstays Mulder and Scully (David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson). Fox is releasing very little information about the project, but The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that production will begin Dec. 10 in Vancouver, BC.
Xzibit had also signed on to play an American soldier in Oliver Stone’sPinkville, but production was halted due to the writer’s strike. The break in filming allowed Xzibit to accept the X-Files role. Fox expects the film to be released to theaters in July of 2008.
