After Miss Info discovered that Rampage put out a press release effectively retracting any statements he made regarding his involvement with Busta Rhymes and the Flipmode Squad, Spliff Star reiterated that he has no desire to leave the fold.
“I don’t know what the f— Rampage is talking about,”Spliff Star told MTV. “I know me, Rampage, Ra Digga and Baby Cham, everybody is doing their side things. Spliff Star is Flipmode though. Because not only is Busta my CEO and the boss of the sh–, that’s my brother.”Spliff Star is currently working on a mixtape entitled “Contraband,” which will be released through his label Paperrock Records. Rah Digga maintains that while she is no longer with the crew, there is no bad blood. As for Rampage, he continues to list himself as “The First Lieutenant of Flipmode.” His solo effort, Da Ambush Vol. 1, will be released through Deep Freeze Entertainment.
Busta Rhymes doesn’t appear to be bothered by all the apparent crew drama. He sent MTV an e-mail stating, “Flipmode is the next movement.” His album, Back On My BS is still tentatively scheduled for a Dec. 4 release. In the meantime, Busta has collaborated with Mick Boogie to release a collection of previously unheard work with the late J. Dilla entitled Dilligence. Both Mick and Busta discuss the project in HipHopDX’s features section (click HERE).
