New music from Lloyd Banks is hard to come by these days, but he returned with a rare song on Friday (January 8) courtesy of Griselda Records. Titled “Element of Surprise,” the Nothing But M’s-produced track appears on the soundtrack for the Buffalo crew’s upcoming CONFLICTED movie.

The former G-Unit member spits two verses on the record and also handles the chorus, with lyrics about his position in the upper echelons of Hip Hop.

“You gas your favorite, debate me, I make a casket out ’em,” he raps in the first verse. “Don’t compare me to n-ggas without a classic album.”

Fans were delighted with the precious Lloyd Banks bars and took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the track.

One fan wrote, “That @Lloydbanks track on the Griselda movie tape was the standout, and one of the hardest Banks tracks in over a decade.”

Another said, “Aht aht @Lloydbanks cmon man you spazzed out on ‘Element of Surprise’ was great to hear from you G.”

“Lloyd banks still killin shit oh my god,” proclaimed another user.

Banks’ last studio album H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger for More 2) turned 10 years old in November, with his last mixtape Halloween Havoc 3: Four Days of Fury also dropping as far back as 2016.

This isn’t the first time Griselda has brought Banks back into action in the last six months. In September, Conway The Machine was graced with a verse from the Queens native on “Juvenile Hell,” which also featured Mobb Deep’s Havoc and Flee Lord — taken from his From King to a GOD album.

CONFLICTED‘s original motion picture soundtrack features 16 tracks with contributions from Benny The Butcher, Westside Gunn, Dave East, Wale, Smoke DZA, Boldy James, Armani Caesar and many others.
