Although he hasn’t released an official album in nearly three years, Lil’ Jon has managed to stay relevant with a few generous endorsement deals. While explaining the origins of his Crunk! energy drink the “King of Crunk” broke down his upcoming promotional campaign for the National Hockey League, with Adweek.
“I like the Thrashers,”Jon says of his hometown franchise. “The owners are really cool. The NHL showed me a lot of love too. I got word from the commissioner about how much he appreciated me endorsing the sport. My son plays hockey so I wanted to take him to a real hockey game so he could see how the game is played; so I took my wife and my son, and they loved it.”
Lil’ Jon currently has a member profile page on the official NHL website, with plans for a blog as well. His latest project, Crunk Rock, is scheduled for a release before the end of 2007
“I Want You,” the third single from Common’sFinding Forever will premiere on 106 & Park tomorrow, October 23rd. The clip was co-directed by Kerry Washington, who has been featured in Ray and The Last King of Scotland. Alicia Keys will join her fellow Smokin’ Aces co-star in what Common’s camp is describing as “a passionate video inspired by the erotic classic 9 1/2 Weeks.”

“Kerry and I have always admired each others work and always wanted to collaborate on a project,” said Common. “When we began planning the video for I want You, I reached out to Kerry to star in it and it developed into her directing. She had a strong vision for the song that grabbed me from the start so we got our cast and crew together and made it happen.”
