The infamous Foot-In-The-Mouth disease struck another Fox News employee this week.

On the heals of a recent Ohio school shooting that left four people shot and the gunman dead, nationally syndicated radio host John Gibson attempted to blame Hip Hop culture for the latest shooting spree.

During his Oct. 10 broadcast Gibson remarked that this was “another example of Hip Hop culture bringing murder and mayhem into the rest of our society.”

The shooting took place at Success Tech, which is a predominately black high school. However, the shooter, 14-year-old Asa Coon is white.

That didn’t stop Gibson from attacking Hip Hop further, playing song clips from 50 Cent and other artists talking about gun violence.

After hearing more details of the shooting, Gibson retracted a previous assumption that the shooter was black, saying he “knew” the shooter was white after learning of Coon‘s suicide.

“I know the shooter was white, I knew it as soon as he shot himself,”Gibson remarked during his Oct. 10 broadcast. “Hip-hoppers don’t do that. They shoot and move on to shoot again.”

Gibson was cut short after learning that Coon was into Gothic culture and a fan of Marilyn Manson.

Anticipating accusations of racism, Gibson then reminded callers that African Americans are dying in America due to apathy.

“I know there’s a few of you who want to call me racist. But when you do, remind — let me remind you, African-Americans are dying in major cities because people won’t face this problem.”

This is not the first questionable statement on race relations that Gibson has issued. According to a Media Matters article, Gibson stated that supporters of the Jena 6 who led a Sept. 20 protest in the small Louisiana town “only wanted to fight the white devil.”
