After his 2006 effort, Me, Myself & I spawned the double-platinum single and top-selling ringtone “Make It Rain,” Fat Joe is gearing up for a 2008 release of his eighth solo album. The Elephant in the Room will be Joe’s second album with Imperial/EMI, and “Don Cartagena” sounds like he’s ready to keep the partnership going.

“Working with Imperial is one of the greatest moves I ever made in my life,” said Joe. “I never made as much money in my career as I have since I went independent. The Elephant in the Room is guaranteed to be a classic. Believe that!”

Fat Joe was no stranger to controversy during his last album, as he took shots from 50 Cent and Remy Ma, among others. Yet, the album garnered both critical praise as well as a debut spot at number three on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop album chart.

In addition to Joe’s usual collaborators Cool and Dre, Scott Storch and DJ Khaled, the album will feature appearances by Diddy, Danjahandz, Fabolous, Rick Ross, The Runners and more. The Elephant in the Room is scheduled for release early in 2008.
