Talib Kweli made his first Billboard Top Ten debut last week, as his Eardrum earned him the number two spot with 60,000 copies sold. Out of Kweli’s four solo efforts, Eardrum provided him his best sales and charting week ever. The Blacksmith Music camp is hoping to capitalize on the buzz as the video for the will.i.am produced single “Hot Thing” was just released for debut on BET’s 106 & Park.
For those eagerly awaiting another Black Star album, Kweli promised to “get Mos Def on camera saying, ‘We’re doing the Black Star album.'” The statement came during the filming for Kweli’s channel of exclusive YouTube content.
