Houston rapper Mike Jones joined the Adidas/Major League Soccer initiative “MLS Represent.” The program taps music artists to create original theme songs for their local MLS teams. Jones contributed “Houston Dynamo (Don’t Play)” for his native Houston Dynamos, who also hold the distinction as the 2006 MLS Champions. Jones is not the lone Hip-Hop artist in the program, he was joined by Ohio raised Def Jux artist RJD2 who recorded “It’s Your Crew” for the Columbus Crew. D-12 founding member and one-time Celebrity Fit Club participant Bizarre, is returning with his sophomore solo album. Blue Cheese ‘n’ Coney Island will be released October 9 on Koch. As far as the unconventional title, Bizarre says he just wanted to give everyone a taste of Detroit.
“I named it Blue Cheese ‘n’ Coney Island basically because in Detroit we’re known for our Coney Islands (hot dogs),”Bizarre explained. “Only a true Detroiter can appreciate that. I still live in Atlanta, but if you’re from Detroit, you just can’t get it out of your system.”Coney Island ‘n’ Blue Cheese will feature guest spots from Tech N9ne, King Gordy and others.
