Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu and Raphael Saadiq will join with Common, DJ Jazzy Jeff and others as Heineken returns with its annual Red Star Soul Concert Series. The set of tour dates will begin August 15 at L.A.’s Boulevard3 as Common, Chrisette Michelle and noted Boogie Down Productions alumnus D-Nice share top billing.
Heineken notes that additional artists may be added throughout the series–Teedra Moses, Deemi and Raheem DeVaughn have already been scheduled to perform.
Members of the local music community will also be recognized during each tour stop with the Heineken Independent Achiever Award. The award will recognize local artists who “demonstrate the hustle, integrity and drive necessary to ‘make it.'” As expected, guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend. While each concert date will have an associated event that is open to the public, tickets to the actual concerts are by invitation only. The Heineken website states, “Concert invitations are selectively available at local events or by tuning in to select radio stations.” Concert dates, venues and scheduled performers are listed below:
