An interview Nas did with Wendy Williams in 2002 has resurfaced in the wake of Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly six-part docu-series. The interview was conducted shortly after the infamous video showing R. Kelly urinating on an underaged girl was released.
During their conversation, Nas insinuated both he and JAY-Z knew about R. Kelly’s inappropriate behavior around young girls.
“That’s not my style,” he said on Williams’ former 107.5 FM radio show. “I could have showed the R. Kelly video that everybody’s talking about and made fun of it and show pictures of Jay hanging out. You can’t tell me Jay didn’t see a 14-year-old girl come into the studio and sit on R. Kelly’s lap. You gonna tell me he didn’t see no 14-year-old girl come into the vicinity?
“You’ve seen it go down. I’ve been around R. Kelly … I’ve been on tours with him. I didn’t see no 14-year-old, but I talked to the man and see there’s a little problem there. The brother needs help and I pray for him. I’m here for the people. I’m here to talk the truth.”

Surviving R. Kellydove into the R&B superstar’s sordid past and featured several of Kelly’s alleged sexual assault victims.
In the first two episodes, the documentary explored Kelly’s inappropriate sexual relationship with the late Aaliyah, which sparked outrage across social media. The late singer was only 15 years old at the time of her marriage to the then-27-year-old Kelly.
Hov’s name was dragged into the discussion when Nick Cannon interviewed Dame Dash last week. After Cannon brought up Jay’s relationship with Aaliyah, the Roc-A-Fella co-founder detailed the behind-the-scenes issues that occurred when Jay started working with Kelly.
Consequently, 50 Cent called out Dash for trying to tarnish Jay’s reputation and Funk Flex went to war with Cannon in the Instagram comment section, accusing Dash of stealing Jay’s “girl” Aaliyah.
