Celebrated comedian Chris Rock was Twitter’s number one trending topic on Saturday night (December 22) after a 2011 clip of HBO’s Talking Funny resurfaced. In the video, Rock is joined by fellow comics Ricky Gervais, Louis C.K. and Jerry Seinfeld who are discussing the “N-word.”

As Gervais and C.K. are casually throwing around the racial slur, Rock joins in and laughs along with them.

Rock tells Seinfeld and Gervais how C.K. is “the blackest white guy” he knows. C.K. responds by asking Rock, “You’re saying I’m a n****r?”

“Yes,” Rock replies. “You are the n****r-est white man I have ever [met].”

Gervais is clearly entertained by the whole exchange but Seinfeld is visibly uncomfortable. In fact, Seinfeld is the only person who speaks up.

“You’ve found the humor of it,” he says. “I haven’t — nor do I seek it.”

Twitter lit up with reactions to the controversial video. Even Chance The Rapper chimed in and commented, “I remember finding out Louis CK wrote and directed pootie tang,” which clearly didn’t sit right with him.
