The Hip Hop and house music scenes have been inextricably linked since both genres rose to popularity in the 1980s. Bronx lyricist The Kid Daytona adds to the lengthy list of house music-sampled rap songs with his new single “Have You.”

On The Gifted Program produced-track, Daytona interpolates a down-tempo pitch and the refrain from Raze’s 1989 house music staple “Break 4 Love,” while cavorting with an attractive model in New York for the song’s visual.

Since returning from a recording hiatus in 2015, Daytona’s profile has highly increased.

This is partially attributed to the release of his M.I.N.K.S. mixtape produced by Harry Fraud, his college football staple “Runnin’ Plays” and his featured hook on French Montana’s  Jungle Rules album hit single “Bring Dem Things” in 2017.
