What better way for a label to squeeze out some money than to release another Greatest Hits compilation? Despite excellent retrospectives already available for them, both Gang Starr and NWA are being repacked for another “best of” collection. Thankfully, they’ve got DVD’s as part of the package making the purchase more than worthwhile.
Gang Starr‘s Mass Appeal features 21 of their classic joints from Take It Personal, DWYCK and The Militia to Manifest and everything in between. Also included is a DVD with 13 of their videos; Step In The Arena, Just To Get A Rep, Who’s Gonna Take The Weight, Ex Girl To The Next Girl, Take It Personal, Code of the Streets, Mass Appeal, You Know My Steez, The Militia, Full Clip, Nice Girl, Wrong Place and Skillz.
NWA‘s The Strength Of Street Knowledge will also come with a DVD complete with all NWA‘s classic video’s plus a handful of interviews with the legendary group. The album will include remastered versions of Straight Outta Compton, Gangsta Gangsta, If It Ain’t Ruff, Compton’s N The House and Express Yourself.
Lastly, 15 Years on Death Row is a two disc, 27 track collection of some of the best from Death Row‘s golden era with songs from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, 2Pac and more. The package also comes with a DVD with over 20 videos.
