André 3000 blessed all of us on Mother’s Day with two new songs in honor of his late parents.

The Outkast MC’s latest tracks, released on his recently-created Soundcloud account, are his first solo cuts in quite some time since his output has mostly been restricted to guest appearances.

The first song, titled “Me&My (To Bury Your Parents),” is dedicated to his mother, Sharon Benjamin-Hodo, who passed away in 2013. The record is much more piano-based than Hip Hop based, featuring no rapping. The official cover art for the track is a photo of a young André and his mom.

The second track, “Look Ma No Hands,” is a 17-minute record with no vocals. 3 Stacks handles the bass and clarinet while James Blake plays the piano.

André also reinforced the Mother’s Day message on his new verified Instagram account.

“Happy Mother’s Day. I’m sure all the cards, dinners, flowers and last minute gifts are appreciated but I’ve learned the best gift a parent could get is to simply know their child is ok,” he wrote as the caption for the hand-written lyrics to “Me&My (To Bury Your Parents).”
He additionally shared some text messages with his mother and as it turns out, they were the last messages André received before she died.
