Big Boi of OutKast seems to have a jones for acting these days. After a cameo in ATL and starring in Idlewild, he will grace the small screen for a series of appearances on the CW’s, Girlfriends. Scheduled to appear in three episodes, Big Boi will play himself. The emcee discovers Lynn (played by actress Persia White) and hires her to collaborate on an album. The first of the episodes premieres next Monday, Nov. 27 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Say what you will about Black Entertainment Television, but the network has a loyal following. The first annual BET Hip Hop Awards, shown Nov. 15, was the number one watched program on cable television, pulling in 3.64 million viewers. The show’s line up read like a who’s who of commercial Hip Hop, boasting appearances and performances by Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Nelly, Rick Ross, Chamillionaire, Ludacris and more. Let’s hope the network brings back show host Katt Williams next year.

Michael Richards (Seinfeld’s Cosmo Kramer) issued an apology for a racially based tirade last week at the Laugh Factory on Letterman the other day. Several audience members can be heard laughing during the apology. If you missed it, here’s the video.
