Happy 4/20! It’s Friday, so that means a refreshed #DXHitList for your listening pleasure. J. Cole’s KOD was unleashed Friday (April 20) and his blazing track “Photograph” tops this week’s #DXHitList on Spotify. The track was produced by Cole himself and examines relationships built through Instagram filters, vain captions and the hunt to get the one he’s lusting after. It also mimics the so-called “mumble rap” style, except it’s void of empty lyrics.
Also topping this week’s playlist is Khalid‘s new track “OTW” featuring 6LACK and Ty Dolla $ign. It’s another relatable cut from the Grammy Award-nominated artist that features mellow production and seductive lyrics aimed at a special late-night lover. “I’m on my way,” Khalid croons. “Put it in drive, I’ll be outside, I’ll be on the way/ You can meet me in five.”
Quando Rondo from Savannah, Georgia dropped his Life B4 Famemixtape on April 17 and his smooth cut “Paradise” also made this week’s #DXHitList. Produced by burgeoning beatmaker CashMoney AP, “Paradise” features an honest Quando rap-singing about the trap and life’s sorrows.
Also featured on this week’s #DXHitList is new music from Rae Sremmurd featuring Travis Scott on “CLOSE,” Creek Boyz with “Boss Right Now,” Del The Funky Homosapien and Amp Live’s Gate 13 track “Chili Sauce” and FBG Duck’s “Slide.”
