With the new NBA season set to kick off tonight, league commissioner David Stern is cracking down on players again.

In an attempt to “clean up the league” and make the game more appealing to a broader fan base (read: middle America ), Stern is now regulating the players dress while they’re on the court

.

Last year, Stern set
up an off court dress code that had many fans, journalists and players
weighing in on the possible implications and his new decision may yield
the same results.

If you’re hoping to catch Allen Iverson’s now signature arm sleeve, or wrist bands pushed up to the elbow, you’ll have to catch it on the X Box 360 or PS2.

Both styles are now against the new on court dress code.

The growing issues the NBA has faced over the years caused Stern to consider, and ultimately implement the change.

“I used to think the precise rules of what you wore on the court and how you wore [that] here was an NBA way to deal with it,”

Stern said in a Yahoo Sports article. “Which is ‘let’s not get too uptight about it.’

“But I decided that I was wrong.”
