Coinciding with Culture IIs release on Friday (January 26), Migos paid a visit to The Breakfast Club studios for an interview with hosts Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, and DJ Envy. The group was vocal as they discussed a number of hot topics including their come-up, Takeoff being underrated, and Offset’s cheating allegations. Here are seven things we learned about the trio from their interview.

The Album Is Intentionally 24 Tracks Long

The album release comes almost exactly to the one-year anniversary of Culture (which dropped January 27, 2017). According to the Migos, Culture II celebrates that by being a 24-track-long production.

Despite Being Labeled “Not Real Hip Hop,” They Respect The OGs

Offset recently repped for Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah on his Without Warning opening track, as he rapped, “Ghostface killers, Wu-Tang, 21 news gang” and Quavo has been on record praising JAY-Z as his favorite rapper.

They’re Business-Minded

Cardi B has stated that Offset inspired her to get a business manager, a lawyer, and other staff. Quality Control CEO Pierre “Pee” Thomas explains that the Migos are so business oriented because they’ve been dealing with large sums of cash for a while. “They came in getting money. They had been grinding, it was in the streets but they were grinding.”

Takeoff Will Be Releasing A Project With Lil Yachty

As the last Migos member to break away and flourish apart from his crewmates, Takeoff reveals that he has a mixtape coming with Lil Yachty. In fact, he shares that it’s already finished, but doesn’t reveal a date, as he tells the Breakfast Club team to “Wait on it.”

They’re Still United

Although they’ve ventured into their own projects and released music as soloists or in collaboration with other rappers, they remain a tight unit.They enthusiastically support one another —“Got to,” Quavo says. The Migos explain that they “started in the game as one, gunna leave the game as one,” declaring that since they’re family, they will remain a unit.

They’re Loyal To Atlanta 

They’ve traveled all over the world, citing the Blue Lagoon in Iceland as their favorite place to visit. But, when asked if Atlanta is still the biggest influence on their music, Takeoff responded, “Yea, that’s where the drip at,” before Quavo added, “Can’t live nowhere, can’t be nowhere without the A. That’s where our foundation at.”

They Have No Issue Critiquing One Another

The Migos say that they find it easy to work with one another — they’re open about criticizing each other’s verses, without taking anything personally. Offset explains, “I used to do a verse, and if it ain’t hard, it get deleted right there, there’s no pressure, if you tellin’ me ‘nah that ain’t lit.’”
