After being taken into custody last week on multiple felony charges, XXXTENTACION is expected to be released from jail on 60 days of house arrest, according to TMZ.
As indicated on the Miami-Dade Corrections website, the polarizing Broward County, Florida native was released on felony bond Wednesday (December 20).
The 17 rapper’s attorney David Bogenschutz reportedly said the judge is willing to let X fulfill his contractual obligations while on house arrest, meaning he’ll still be able to make music and record in a local studio. As part of his house arrest conditions, he’s strictly forbidden to have contact with the alleged victim or any witnesses in the case.
Bogenschutz added that once X’s house arrest expires, his team will try to get him released on bond while they prepare for trial.

X, who’s brief career has been shrouded in controversy, was arrested on seven felony charges stemming from a 2016 domestic violence case. On Monday (December 18), he was slapped with eight more felonies for alleged witness tampering, bringing the total felony count to 15. Prosecutors discovered the evidence after combing through his jail calls he made last year.
X’s next trial date is January 24, 2018.
