Belo, of Do or Die fame drops his solo debut, The Truth on indie label, The Legion today. The album finds Belo, known more for spitting tales
about pimpin and excess take a break from the traditional Do or Die sound, in favor of topics like terrorism, the government and the war in Iraq . For Belo, the album title is fitting because he was able to speak his mind. T“I
picked it because a lot of the stuff I wanted to express I couldn’t
express when I was doing albums with Do Or Die. I wanted to touch on
some topics that were real truthful, that were really real, so I called
it The Truth. I had never gotten a chance to touch on my personal
spirituality. I have done a lot on the streets. I lot of people don’t
know that side of me because they hear me rapping laid-back and smooth
but they don’t know the street side and the stuff that I’ve gone
through in life.”
The Truth also comes with a chopped and screwed version, mixed by Paul Wall.

And just in case you missed it (or wanted to see it again)… Lamar Thomas
was terminated after his comments during the Miami-Florida
International brawl that took place this weekend. As the fighting
between the players escalated, Thomas a former Miami football player said (into the microphone), “Now,
that’s what I’m talking about,” Thomas said as the brawl raged out of
control. You come into our house, you should get your behind kicked.
You don’t come into the OB playing that stuff. You’re across the ocean
over there. You’re across the city. You can’t come over to our place
talking noise like that. You’ll get your butt beat. I was about to go
down the elevator to get in that thing.”
Talk about putting your foot in your mouth.
