JR Writer — core member of The Diplomats aka Dipset — has emerged with the cover art for his new solo project, #iREALLYRAP.

The illustration clearly mocks Lil Yachty’s cover for Teenage Emotionsand finds Writer poised in the center of a theatre surrounded by caricatures of Danny Brown, Lil Pump, Chance The Rapper (Editor’s Note: Sorry, that’s Ugly God), XXXTENTACION, Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert, RiFF RAFF, and even Bhad Bhabie (otherwise known as the “Cash Me Ousside” girl).

As Writer sits laced up in a pair of Jordans and a couple of silver chains, the look on his face says it all — he doesn’t belong.

“I look around at my competition … I see addicts, purses, painted nails, spandex,” he said in the album’s trailer. “This is the state of rap I’m competing with. But I ain’t here to knock nobody hustle … shit get ya money how you get it! But what I am gonna do is, is give y’all what y’all want. What y’all been missing. So on November 30 … I remind y’all what grown man bars sound like. What Hip Hop sound like. One things for sure … this is what I was born to do.”

Writer took it a step further when Brown asked him to listen to some of his music, tweeting, “Your voice bro… I can’t… Tweet me the lyrics.”

#iREALLYRAP,

which marks Writer’s first album since his 2015 release from prison, is expected to arrive on Friday (November 30).He admits the Hip Hop climate is far from what it looked like when he initially started rapping.

“Everything is different,” Writer tells HipHopDX. “When I first got on, the landscape was gritty, grimy, similar to the projects. Shit look like Candyland now!”

Along with the cover art, the seasoned Diplomat also shared a new Mike Rawlings-directed video for “Lose It,” the project’s inaugural single.
