This week in Hip Hop, Meek Mill turned himself into prison after a judge sentenced him to two to four years in the slammer for parole violations. Also, Eminem gifted fans a taste of what’s to come on his highly anticipated album, Revival, with a Beyoncé-assisted single called “Walk On Water.” And lastly, Tyrese caused havoc on social mess by claiming Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith were sending him $5 million.

Meek Mill Goes To Prison

Meek Mill is behind bars once again after being sentenced to two to four years following violating his probation. JAY-Z wrote a post on Facebook defending Meek and calling the judge’s sentence way too harsh. T.I., Nipsey Hussle, and Rick Ross also came to the Wins & Losses MC’s defense and sent words of encouragement via social media. There’s even a petition to “Save Meek Mill” that has accumulated over 300,000 signatures.

His lawyer, Joe Tacopina, has also been speaking to various publications, accusing the judge of holding certain things over his head — including a time where she reportedly asked Meek Mill to remake Boyz II Men‘s 1994 #1 hit “On Bended Knee” and he refused. The attorney plans to appeal because he feels the judge’s sentence was a personal vendetta.

Tyrese’s Back & Forth With Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith

It was later revealed by TMZ that The Smiths never actually agreed to any such deal. It’s one of many things that have led to Tyrese’s name dominating the headlines in recent weeks, including his public custody battle with his ex-wife over his daughter and his feud with The Rock over the Fast & Furious franchise.

On Saturday (November 11), Tyrese revealed his erratic behavior stems from a mixture of stress and psychotics prescribed to him by his doctor and he was just having a bad reaction.

“Russell got up, walked to the tape deck and threw the cassette out the window,” Dré recalls.  “I said, ‘What are you doing?’ He said, ‘This is garbage, man. Nobody’s ever going to listen to that.’ Months later — Chuck, myself and [former Def Jam exec] Bill Stephney were in the same music class with Harry Allen — after going back and forth with everyone, I basically brought Public Enemy over there.”
